Once the SM-2 Automatic Crew-Overboard Marker light hits the water it automatically rights itself and activates the strobing light. Running on a 6-Volt lantern battery it can operate for up to 60 hours. Whether for commerical marine, ptro-marine, cruisers or any application needing a reliable COB light this is the perfect device to have.

Marker lights are designed to need to float upright for maximum visibility. The lantern batteries are what provide the ballast for these lights. While the batteries may be the same size the chemical makeup can cause them to have varying weight. It is important to that only the suggested 6-Volt batteries are used. Too little ballast will cause the light to lie over and be ineffective while too much weight could cause it to sink.
